UpComing Trip - 2025 - Trip to OuterBanks, North Carolina, USA

2025 -  Duck, North Carolina - May 24 to June 7, 2025

On May 24, Alanna, Ray and I fly to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. This holiday was conceived one night at dinner when Alanna said "why don't we take a trip to Duck and bring back some memories from the past?" We spent several summer holidays in Duck with Sherry and Lloyd and JoAnna and Jeffrey when JoAnna and Jeffrey, and Alanna, were young. We had some fabulous times: playing in the Ocean and avoiding the rip-currents, fishing in the Sound, seeing the wild horses, going deep sea fishing from near Cape Hatteras, and learning about the Wright Brothers first flight out of Kitty Hawk. It is a fun and beautiful area. And so, Ray and I jumped on it. Ray also contacted Toby and Keri, his son and daughter in law, in England, and asked if they would like to join us. So, we are all headed to Duck for two/one week shortly. I will try to keep you updated .... but if we are having soooooo much fun, my posts may be a day or too late!! Stay tuned!!

Upcoming Adventure

In about 10 days I am off on a new adventure. An eight day riding holiday in the Dalmatian Hinterland of Croatia with a small group of six women from Canada. As you know, horses are one of my passions, always have been since I was a very small person!!  The group includes one of my very best buddies, Robin, and a new friend from here in Squamish, Heather. Heather is the instigator. I first met her at a horse rescue farm in Squamish "Second Chance Cheekye Ranch" where we were both volunteering at a fundraiser as "Greeters!" Heather told me about her annual horseback riding holidays with a group of women she had come to know through her holidays. I told her Robin and I had often discussed doing one. So, when she asked if I would like her to let me know when she was organising the next one, I immediately said "YES"..... and here we are!!! I will do my best to keep the blog up while I am away. We are trying to make the trip with carry on luggage only as Robin ...
